Xenon Supply Standard Ballasts are Intellight brand Digital AC units with quality internal components at a fair price. We source and develop our ballasts to ensure they are compatible with 12V automotive power systems and test to ensure their power draw is accurate and acceptable for daily use. XenonSupply only uses 35W systems, the same as those used in OEM HID Systems from luxury car manufacturers i.e. Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Lexus etc.
Why 35w Ballasts? 35w HID systems last longer, and produce less heat as a byproduct than other 55w~100w HID systems. Most bulbs are not manufactured with different wattage ratings and using a higher wattage ballast will increase the wear and tear on a system reducing bulb life and color quality. Color loss is a problem with higher wattage ballasts i.e. a 6000K bulb running at 55W will not produce the correct kelvin temperature and often leads to color matching problems. Increaesed heat output is also a concern as it can lead to heat scarring, and in some cases, users have reported melting portions of their headlight housings.
