Xenon Supply Premium Ballasts are Intellight brand Digital AC systems equipped with both CANBus decoders and Anti Flicker Capacitors built into the unit. Why Premium? For the most efficient and high output system available, the Premium Ballasts is the weapon of choice for bright, long lasting HID lighting. Paired with either the Standard Intellight or Philips brand HID bulbs, your lights will start up flicker free, without warning lights appearing on your dash, with excellent color accuracy. Intellight Premium Slim Ballasts represent the most effective use of space as well as latest technological components on the market.
Why do you need Premium Slims? Because of the additional components built into the Premium Ballast it is the largest and heaviest unit we carry. Often, the larger size of this unit is more difficult to install in some engine bays due to the limited space. Premium Slims use miniaturized components, a tighter alluminum casing, and new manufacturing processes to reduce the size of the Ballast by about half. These units are easier to install, reducing the time spent under the hood, meaning more time spent on the road enjoying your new HIDs!
Why do you need CANBus? CANBus decoders uses a series of resistors and a micro controller to eliminate any warning lights that might appear on your dash as a result of the HID installation. With high end electrical systems in luxury vehicles, the vehicle computer will check for proper voltage and wattage running through the headlights to confirm they are working. Since a 35W HID system uses less power than the typical 55W halogen system, an error warning light is produced. The CANBus components work to resolve this issue leaving your dash error free.
Why Anti Flicker Capacitors An Anti Flicker Capacitors use a series of 1000 micro farad capacitors to compensate for temporary power irregularities in analog lighting systems. Halogen Headlights run on an analog circuit, where power is shared between many components and as additional devices are turned on, the power level of each device decreases. The Capacitor is used to bridge gaps in power loss by storing a charge and releasing it as needed to ensure the HID system receives the same input voltage resulting in more consistent lighting, as well as longer lasting HID systems.
